About
Hey everybody, my name is Nathaniel Dodson and I have been running Tutvid.com since September of 2006. I am a young web designer and music, fashion, and portrait photographer. I am a young and energetic individual who has been working in the design and creative field since I first started dabbling with Photoshop at the age of 12 back in the year 2000.
A Little About Me
Blurbs about Me in the ‘Burbs of Philly
I was raised and home schooled in a conservative Christian home outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I grew up. I still reside just outside of Philadelphia to this day. I’m a pretty religious guy, at the least it keeps me grounded. I love it around here outside of Philadelphia; it’s where I call home.
I am ultra passionate about web and graphic design, mobile development, and photography. I created this website to be a resource of quality tutorials for designers and photographers. I just want to give back to the incredible design/development community out there.

Timeline of Tutvid & Me
By early 2007 Tutvid.com had turned into a website that was self-sustaining and had taken over as a part-time job for me. I continued creating tutorials and listening to the voice of the community and sculpted my tutorials and website around their frequent feedback and suggestions. Success continued through 2008 as I rebuilt Tutvid.com and implemented new design and continually worked to hone my design skills and provide better and better tutorials.
In early 2009 I was first asked to deliver a presentation on Photoshop for the PPA in Richmond Virginia. For a 19 year-old it was a fairly daunting task, but as daunting as it may have been it was also one of the most eye-opening experiences for my young psyche and the confidence it provided me with in the design world was profound. It was an incredible experience and to this day there is hardly a thing I love more than delivering a killer presentation on this aspect of my life that I am so passionate about; Photoshop, Web Design, and Photography.
The years 2010-2011 were years that Tutvid.com moved into a sort of hibernation due to a family medical emergency which led to my nearly donating a piece of my liver to my young nephew, Jesse Alexander Dodson, who tragically succumbed to a blood infection on August 1st, 2010, the day before the final stage of my medical workup, he was 11 months old. Jesse will be missed by all that knew him. Losing him and the subsequent collapse of a dear friendship was a whole lot to handle and knocked me out of tutorial creating commission for awhile. Some people are simply irreplaceable.
We started a foundation in my nephew’s name: http://www.babyjesse.org/
Design & Photography Were My Escape
I plunged myself into photography and it became a healthy escape for me as I slowly started rebuilding my plan for what I wanted Tutvid to be. It took nearly 10 months longer than expected but my mild recovery is complete. Refreshed, renewed, and reinvigorated, I’m back and ready to rock. Tutvid.com has been re-launched in January of 2012 where I will be continuing to build, create, write, and record brand new tutorials and design related materials.

Photography Portfolio Sample Blurb
I am a huge fan of great photography and there is hardly a thing in life I enjoy more than getting out and photographing a personable and confident individual. Photographing people of all walks of life and capturing raw emotion and beauty are to aspects of photography that I love. I just want to tell stories with beautiful pictures. I placed a small sampling of my work below:

Have Me Come Out and Speak at Your Event
Looking for somebody to deliver a 30 minute, 1 hour, or 6 hour presentation on anything related to Photoshop, Lightroom, or Photography? Reach out and let me know what you are looking to do. Tell me about your meeting, dinner, or event and I’ll let you know what I can do.
I am willing to speak anywhere for free. I do like to make sure there will be at least 40-50 people wherever I will be speaking to ensure a good turnout for the sponsors (these would vary depending on what I am speaking about) as well as being able to sell my media and DVDs. Depending on sponsorships I may need the organization hosting the event to cover my travel and potential accommodation costs.
Feel free to use the contact form and let me know what you’re looking for and how I can fill a void for you and I’ll come out and rock the house!
