I am not really a full time designer only because of the other jobs I work as well, however I spend enough time doing this work that yes I should qualify as a “full-time” designer and without my other job(s) I would be doing this “full-time+some”.
The free videos on the site are worse quality both sound and visual as well as being about half the size of the videos I am selling. You can download the videos I sell right there and have them on your computer and be able to watch even with no internet access, and of course if I ever pull any videos you will always have your copy.
Right now I use a Samson C01U Studio Condenser microphone and this recording software: http://www.deskshare.com/msr.aspx.
Sure! Send em’ all, I love requests, tutorial requests that is.
That is really up to you, but if you want to be as flexible as possible a liquid layout that adjusts to the users screen size is ideal. If you are not comfortable enough with CSS to jump into liquid layout design a good base size to start with is 800 pixels by 600 pixels.
For some servers in the EOD part it shouldn't be: Email: $email <br>, but: Email: $emailField <br> etc…etc…. Now in the headers part change $headers = "From: $email \r\n", to: $headers = "From: $emailField\r\n" There are also issues with Yahoo! and GoDaddy servers. If you are using their hosting try contacting them and see if they have any answers for you.
I use a service called Payloadz. They are great, check them out here: www.payloadz.com
I used to, but I no longer have the time, so no I do not have any type of Instant Messaging service.
Honestly the best way to fix that is to simply take that sliced psd and use the images and build the website a piece at a time. Importing the PSD form Photoshop to Dreamweaver creates this complex “web” of coding, tables, fill cells, spacer images and all kinds of mess and as you try to make changes all of this gets tweaked and twisted and it becomes a mess quickly. Hand laying out in Dreamweaver is best, you don’t particularly need to hand code just build your site one div, or table cell, at a time and you will have the most control.
Select the problematic image(probably any image you have linked) and look down into the properties panel and set the “Border” option to zero.
Not yet….
Back in the good ole’ days of YouTube(well pre-Google days anyway) you could only upload 10 minute videos max, unless you became a Director or Guru etc… then after the Google take-over even Directors and Gurus etc… could not even have longer videos, unless you had that Director, or Guru, or Musician, or anything other than the standard account BEFORE the total 10 minute ban took over. This is how I can still do it and, matter of fact, other big names on YouTube who were there pre-ban can still upload longer stuff too.
I have never been to College and never really wanted to go and still have no interest except maybe a few small classes here and there, but no overall I do not have a degree or any kind of “higher” education….sad I know.
No, never even have gotten a job offer, but maybe some day. *
Not yet, but I have been planning on getting my A.C.E certification for some time now.
Tutorial project files are now located under the “Resources” section of the page.
I never actually had ImageReady on my site….no, no I know it really is gone! Adobe decided with the release of CS3 to simply merge Photoshop and ImageReady and because they took over Macromedia(remember them…?) they had the option of getting id of program or semi-merging programs like splitting ImageReady between Fireworks and Photoshop.
I was actually at one point, but I had a multiple Hard drive failure happen in the summer of 08’ and my regular drives went as well as my back-ups….don’t even ask I still have no clue. Data-recovery brought most of the stuff back, but a bunch of my work(and some of my clients….eek) was gone for good. Back-ups are good, always remember to back up although that time it still didn’t help me, but still back your files up!
Yes, but only if you are using programs that are newer that CS2. Programs newer thatn CS2 are backwards-compatible, but if you only have CS, no they will not work.
That is a feature of becoming a Partner on YouTube. What are the requirements for becoming a partner? I honestly have never looked into it, YouTube contacted me and told me they wanted me as a partner so I was never working toward some set standard they have, but a quick search in their help system should yield results.
I am not a big MySpace user so I really couldn’t tell you. I have had a little MySpace experience but not enough to tell you their HTML restrictions, system tweaks, etc…
I used to do this all the time, but Tutvid has gotten so busy I really have run out of time all the questions and technical issues take my Tutvid time.
I really tried, I promise. Some emails just get plain skipped for any number of reasons, but I answer everything I can, however I do know I have missed emails, probably for any one of these reasons:
I accidentally missed it.
Email address was wrong.
You asked me to do a bunch of work for nothing (time-factor again).
Generally if you keep the question email short and to-point I will get back to you pretty much as soon as I can.
